The Republic Day of India celebrates the adoption of its constitution and the country’s transition to a republic on January 26, 1950. The celebration every year features spectacular military and cultural pageantry. In New Delhi, an elaborate display of military might takes place on the Kartavya path. The epic show on Kartavya path eclipsed all other celebrations happening across the country.
The highlight of the Republic Day celebration is the official ceremony at Kartavya path, where the President of India takes the salute from all three armed forces. He is accompanied by dignitaries and other members of government. The parade showcases India’s military strength and prowess through a series of marching contingents that perform various drills, including those by police forces.

The Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with MyGov, is inviting citizens to compose a jingle for the Republic Day celebrations scheduled for 2023.
The Jingle should be apt, relevant, and appealing. It should endeavour to drive a sense of pride & patriotism amongst citizens of all ages. It should highlight & showcase the importance of Republic Day and imbibe an understanding of the fundamental duties one has towards the country.
Last date for submission – 20th January 2023
Gratification: There will be 3 cash prizes mentioned below: –

Technical Parameters:
- Participants need to provide a script and a jingle of 25-30 seconds, that is easily understandable, is peppy, and connects with the public at large.
- The participants should upload their entry as a high-quality audio file on any media platform, such as SoundCloud, YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. and enter the publicly accessible link in the comments section.
- The script also needs to be submitted as a PDF document

To explore the creative side of the citizens, the Ministry of Defence brings you the most exciting Competition of this year, “The Patriotic Reel Making Competition“. In this digital era, Reels have become a medium for the younger generation to exhibit their creativity and bring in the finest trends on social media.

Technical Parameter:
- The maximum size of the reel(s) should be 60 seconds.
- Reels should be submitted as a YouTube, Instagram or Google Drive Link.
- Entries shall be evaluated on the parameters of creativity, artistic merit, impact, and most importantly, on how coherent they are with the underlying theme of Republic Day.

My Republic Day Memory Photography Contest
As a part of “74th Republic Day 2023” activities, the Ministry of Defence is conducting a Photography Competition to unite citizens to share their Republic Day Memories. In this competition, participants from all over the country may submit photographs clicked by them of any memory associated with Republic Day. For example, a person may submit a photo of their visit to the Republic Day Parade.
