The International Society for Krishna Consciousness, known often as the “Hare Krishna movement” (or simply “the Movement” or “SKCON”), was founded by Srila Prabhupada in 1966.
Srila Prabhupada’s goal was to create a worldwide association of Krishna devotees, based on the teachings of the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam—the scriptures that reveal how we fit into an eternal relationship with God.
